Life Care Home Health and its family of companies are committed to the safety of our patients, their families and our caregivers.
As COVID-19, a respiratory illness caused by a coronavirus, continues to spread through our communities, we are committed to providing care and support to our patients. Since our patients are among the most vulnerable to this infection, we are making every effort to protect them from potential exposure. Some of the steps we are taking to protect our patients include:
Daily pre-screening of staff for COVID-19—prior to the start of any patient visit or reporting to work in any capacity. Every in-home aide and clinician must pass a daily health screening before being approved for client visits.
Confirmation of patient health by calling ahead of each visit and screening for illness before making the visit and potentially transmitting to another client.
Providing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for our staff including gloves, gowns, masks, goggles and face shields. The staff have been trained in the use of PPE and will wear when appropriate when there is exposure or potential for exposure to COVID-19.
Infection control – We follow all CDC and state guidelines. Our staff is trained in infection control and on special consideration in addressing risks associated with COVID-19.
Our staff have been trained and follow hand washing and hand sanitizing protocols. Our staff will wash or sanitize hands upon arrival at the patient’s house, before and after direct contact with the patient, before and after clinical procedures and before leaving the home.
Education – Our staff will educate you and your family and caregivers on symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough, shortness of breath) and will respond quickly to any patient exhibiting those symptoms.
As this situation evolves, we will continue to take proactive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of our clients, families and caregivers. Please reference the CDC website for more information about COVID -19.
